Ortho-cyclen 28 and skipping period

I have one question I'd really liked answered. I have been on the pill for 3 1/2 yrs, first Triphasil 28 and now Ortho-cyclen 28. In July I am traveling from PA to WI by car, and I really don't want to have my period then. I read somewhere once that you could skip a period by finishing all the active pills and then starting a new pack right away, instead of taking the placebo pills. Is this possible, and is it ok to do just once? And will I get my next period a few days after I reach the placebo pills, just like I have been? I would really appreciate a response to this question. Thanks in advance for your time and your help:)

Take care, Kim KStinger13@aol.com
