Hysterosalpingography/Infertility/Uterine Fibroid

I have been trying to get pregnant since I went off the pill in June of 1997. (I'm 32 and have not had children yet.) Starting in Nov., 1997 I started having spotting in the middle of my cycle and have been extremely bloated. In March, my dr. had me take 10 days of progesterone, but it did not stop the bleeding. If I don't get pregnant this week, I will be scheduling for a Hysterosalpingography in order to determine if I have a uterine fibroid, or if something is blocking my tubes, etc. The dr. also wants my husband to have a sperm analysis.

2 questions: 1. Does this sound like a good course of action? ( I feel really worried that I won't be able to have children.)

2. Can you recommend any good books to read on this subject?
