I delivered about 15 months ago. About 8 mos. after my son's birth I started training for the LA marathon. During this training period when I ran a 10k race I experienced an intense pain in my pubic bone. So, I went to see my general physician. He explained to me that this was common amongst women who have had babies. It would go away and that I take advil before or after my runs. The cartilige in between the pubic bones is getting inflammed. Hence the Xrays. Then I ran the LA marathon in March. After that I decided to see an orthopedist/sports doctor. He after looking at my Xrays wanted a bonescan done... As a result of the bonescan report he mentioned that I have Ostetis Pubicis (sp?). The orthopedist thought that my OB (who I had a recent checkup with) should have noted something from the Xrays. Anyway, the orthopedist wrote me a subscription that is stronger than advil for 2 weeks. He wants me to quit running while I'm on the medication. Then, have a followup. The orthopedist didn't buy the OB's solution of popping advils.... He says until when? He thinks the pain is probably common up until 4-5 mos. after delivery...

I would like another opinion. Can somebody shed some light on this issue?

Thanks for your support,

- Padma
