Could this be menopause?

I am 44 years old. For the last 2 years I have had a recurring problem with HPV. I have had a LEEP procedure twice. The last one was in April. My problem is that I have been experiencing hot flashes, night sweats,& mood swings. Sometimes my periods are intense. By this I mean that they had a great deal of clots, and I am generally miserable. This time my period is free of clots but I have severe cramping! Also heavy bleeding at times. Could this be from my medical problem with HPV and the procedures done? Or could this be that I am starting menopause. My doctor recommended vitamin supplements for the night sweats, hot flashes and mood swings. This vitamin recommendation was before the severe cramping. The cramps are so severe that they can at times make me light headed and sick to my stomach. I also have been having a problem with bloating. By this I mean that my hands, feet, legs & face are swelling up. Is this a part of everything else or something else going on? Help - my doctor is not that accessible.
