A NFP QuestionFrom: Carrie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 May 1998 11:12:10 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I recently went on an engaged encounter weekend that is required by the catholic church for marriage. Two people came in and talked about natural family planning and how great it was and all natural. They said the three ways to tell your cycle and firtile periods is by BBT, cervical appearance and cervical mucous. The womman said you can do the tests in a bathroom stall. My question is HOW can you examine your cervix? I know this sounds silly, but I really do not think it is as easy at these two people tried to lead a room full of young adults to believe. Quite honestly I do not know how accurate a form of birth controll it is and when I asked for statistics they said it was 99% effective? Please, any answers, professional or experience, I really would like to know. Thanks, Carrie
