Recurrent thrush infections in nursing motherFrom: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 13 May 1998 21:13:32 -0500 (CDT)
Whoo boy. I'm now going through my 4th or 5th thrush infection (in my nipples) since my daughter was born in September. The first occurred after my c-section and all the antibiotics pumped into me in hospital, and every time I've taken antibiotics since, it's come back. It's baaaaaaaack. I've done the standard 2 weeks of oral Nystatin every 6 hours (for the baby), and topical miconazole 2% cream after every feeding, (for me). I've boiled the breast pump flanges, bottles, bottle-nipples and anything else plastic, latex or silicon which has touched expressed milk, for 20 minutes, every time they're used. I've used disposable nursing pads. I've done everything right. And it's *still* back. So...somebody help me out, here. What do I do *now*?
