Anything besides using Provera for irregular periods? From: Jas (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 May 1998 18:59:45 -0500 (CDT)
Hi I searched the archives and now I'm confused. I'm ovulating OK according to temp charts but have irregular spotting approx 4 days before I get my period (luteal phase is about 11 days). Doctor wants to do an endometrial biopsy. Depending on how that turns out he said he may put me on provera to regulate my period. My first question is....... Are there intermediate steps I could take to check out the spotting problem without quickly jumping to the biopsy? Can't provera stop spontaneous ovulation and make it even more difficult to get pregnant? I'm afraid that provera will really mess me up, is there another drug that is prefered if I'm trying to conceive? Really bugged about this provera stuff just don't want it if it will make getting pregnant that much harder. Any doctors tried something else for this type of problem. Thanks :)
