Those of us who have done IVF cycles can tell you that many, if not most, docs put the couples on antibiotics during the cycles. I seem to recall that my husband took vibramycin for about 10 days prior to anticipated retrieval, and then I took a similar, but stronger, antibiotic from retrieval until they put the embryos back. This was to minimize the effects of any hidden infections. Although male factor was an issue for us, we have no reason to think that the treatment affected sperm count.
