Well if she had an IUI and it was 14 days ago, and she hasn't started a period, and she has tested positive for pregnancy with two different tests, I would assume she tested positive for a true pregnancy.

Yes you are right, HCG will cause a person to test positive for pregnancy, however, HCG from an injection normally remains in the system for about 10 days, but can remain for up to 14 days if your friend is not pregnant.
