Re: Effect of stress on chances of becoming pregnantFrom: Marna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 Apr 1998 16:12:31 -0700
Hi Naureen- I can only relate too well to what you are saying. Conception turns into a full time job if we let it. Our bodies remind us that we aren't 25 any more, so the pressure is on to try and have that baby before 40. Conception is not as easy as we are led to believe, and I think that basic help is very appropriate. If that means using OPK's and BBT's, Robittusin, and watching your cervical fluid, along with timed intercourse that is appropriate. All of which are all low tech ways to conceive. Yes stress can play a huge factor in all of this! It's hard to relax when you are trying to achieve something that you wish so badly for. So yes, it would be easy for me to tell you, "just relax, it'll happen" but it's truly not that easy. I am also very sorry about your miscarriage, I am sure that added to your desire for another child, may have you feeling pretty overwhelmed. If you can try to get regular exercise, adequate water intake, and follow a healthy diet, along with what you choose to do in attempts to conceive, I think you will feel better all the way around. Best of luck:)
