Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: 6cm cyst, grew and surgery" Just an update: I had really horrible pain Friday. I called my doctor, who saw me 45 minutes later. I went into surgery at 8:00 pm. It was done laproscoply(sp) and I went home the next morning. The doctor did not have to take out my ovary. The doctor said that it was the size of a grapefruit. The doctor said that their is no way to prevent this from happening again. I'm already taking birth control pills. Is there anything else that I could do, i.e. diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, other drugs?
