Alesse doesn't seem to help with side effects.From: Katie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 7 Apr 1998 09:56:12 -0500 (CDT)
I just started back on birth control pills after being off of them for four years. In January I started with Ortho Tri-Cyclen. My breasts were unbearably sore and I developed a nasty yeast infection (I never get yeast infections). I couldn't bear another month of the discomfort so my doctor switched me to Alesse. I am on my second pack of Alesse pills and my breasts are still very sore and this month I got another yeast infection. I seem to have alot of discharge while on these pills and I don't remember it being that way when I took the pill before. When I first took the pill, I was 17 and took it until I was 21 (I was taking Triphasil). I stopped taking it for four years, and now I'm 25. Why am I having such a hard time with the pill this time around? Could it be because my hormones have changed? Should I try Triphasil again? I thought that the lower dose pills, like Alesse, were supposed to offer some relief, but it doesn't seem to be helping me! Thanks for any input! Kate
