Is it definitely your ovary and not a sequela of the PID? That's an important question to know the answer to. a tubal structure with fluid from aold PID can look that way. Your doctor can discuss this with the radiologist to help define this. Color doppler with the sono can also be helpful.

If the ovary is felt to be benign sonographically, a normal CA125 is gotten, and a frozen section at surgery is benign, many experts believe removal of one adnexa (tube and ovary) may be sufficient. If these criteria are not met, moreextensive surgery may be required and a gyn oncologist may be needed. These concepts should all be discussed with your doctor.
