4.5 centimeter ovarian cystFrom: Patricia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 6 Apr 1998 11:37:00 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 50 year old who had two ovarian wedge resections in 1975, and PID with a pelvic abscess in 1984. I do have 3 children. Now, my pelvic ultrasound just showed a 4.5 cm fluid-filled septatious (?) mass in my right ovary. I have had intermittent pain for at least a year. We are ready for the complete hysterectomy. I also have two small fibroids. Is there any reason not to do this, or is there more I should do? Is this likely to be malignant?
