Dr. Shanahan,

I forgot to ask a question in my reply. What are your thoughts on providing pain relief for someone like me? My endo specialist diagnoses me with severe pelvic pain due to adhesions and endometriosis, yet will prescribe nothing stronger than Aleve. I asked for pain meds only for the worst days of the month (4-5), and yet she states that her big concern is that I receive a "good quality of life." I feel like I'm getting mixed signals. I am not a drug addict - I am a person in alot of pain! Also, if endo is not treated, will a pain clinic be able to help me? I read that they could possibly inject me with nerve blocks that can last for months at a time. Will this help me?

Thank you!
