Mary Lynn....talk to your provider (many have their own favorites) but usually it's safe to go on the "mini pill" while you're breastfeeding...it's progesterone only. Other pills, with the estrogen, are sometimes prescribed but they sometimes can affect your milk supply. If you don't intent to continue to breastfeed when you return to work, you may want to find an alternative method of contraception for the first 12 weeks and then restart the pill. If you do intend to continue, then you've got some options to consider. :-)
