blood? in urine post exerciseFrom: camilla (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Mar 1998 22:42:20 -0600 (CST)
I have passed very dark urine after exercise on three occasions recently. I am 24 weeks into 3rd pregnancy. Colour returned to normal following a couple of drinks of water. First two times I thought I was dehydrated - subsequently have ruled this out. My Dr. and midwife agree that the exercise I do (school my advanced dressage horse one hour per day six days a week) is fine as long as I'm comfortable. I rode (not as avidly) through both my previous pregnancies without incident, with healthy babies and intervention-free natural births. I was wondering if I could be bruising my bladder or kidneys - although I'd insist that horse riding (when experienced) is lower impact than power-walking, and definitely less so than aerobics or running. Most doctors have no real understanding of my sport and all I can rely on is anecdotal information from other riding women - all the other competitors I've taked to have ridden up until just before giving birth! I will have a check up in the next few days and will try to get a suitable urine sample for analysis, but meanwhile I'd really appreciate some informed feedback.
