Intermittent lower abdominal painFrom: Gerri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Mar 1998 21:47:20 -0600 (CST)
Over the last couple of months I have had some strange cases of sudden pain. Primarily on the right side, where I believe my ovary is, but it has happened once or twice on the left side. The pain is very sharp, very strong, and (luckily) goes away very quickly. Generally just enough to surprise me and make me gasp. (BTW, I am known to be very pain tolerant). Sometimes it kinda feels like a bandaid with a very strong adhesive is being pulled off of something, and sometimes its more like a sharp stab. When it first happened I thought that I might just be actually feeling ovulation for the first time. I now suspect that it must be something else (since my estrogen levels are too high and subsequently I have a history of excessive bleeding - 80% of the month). I also seem to bleed heavier right after this pain. Is this type of pain indicative of anything specific? Thank you for your time and consideration.
