Chris,

A hydrosalpinx is just what the word implies: HYDRO = water and SALPINX = fallopian tube. Basically it's a fallopian tube which had been damaged by infection or otherwise, in which the collection of fluid within it (which probably used to be pus) has liquified to be relatively clear fluid. So it's a blocked off tube filled with liquid, usually after an infection.
