levoxyl and estrogenFrom: cathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 22 Mar 1998 08:00:18 -0600 (CST)
I have had hypothyroidism for 14 years and currently take .75 mg levoxyl (just reduced 2 wks ago from .137 mg due to TSH levels on current blood work). I had total hysterectomy 4 weeks ago and am taking .625 mg Premarin. I just found out "sweats" I have experienced off and on for in excess of 10 yrs may have been because of prolactin levels being off ( I just always blamed this symptom on my thyroid). I am 45 yrs old. Previous blood work for FSH was always normal. Will I still produce prolactin now? What is interaction (if any) between levoxyl and estrogen? Other than blood work how will I know if "sweats" are due to thyroid, prolactin levels or low estrogen levels? Is there a web site that deals with endocrinological questions also?
