I wanted to answer some of the questions I am not a doctor but have asked the same questions you have.I was told there is no way to stop adhesions,I really never got a straight answer on why they form except it is the way the body heals.I found a web site on adhesions and it helped answer some of my questions it is http://www.adhesions.com I hope this might help you a little bit.
