Possible ovulation after depo-provera useFrom: Kimberly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 21 Mar 1998 10:17:20 -0600 (CST)
Following the birth of my son, I received the depo-provera shot (Sept '96). Every 3 months after that I received the shot as prescribed until July of '97. (That's when I received my last shot). February 1, 1998 I got what I assumed was my period. The bleeding was light and lasted about 2 days. Naturally I expected to get my period again the first part of March, however, this has not happened. As of March 17th I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all have come up negative. In the last few days I have had some mucas discharge that is slimy in nature and has a yellowish brown color. I am wondering if this could mean that I am or have ovulated. The reason that I am asking, is because I am to start taking the birth-control pill this Sunday (March 22) but I am afraid that if I have ovulated in the past couple of days that there is a chance that I may have gotten pregnant. (We have not been using any birth-control.) If there is a chnce that I have ovulated or am about to ovulate I don't want to start taking "the pill" for fear of possible birth defects if I become pregnant. Thank you for your time and advice in advance. Sincerely, Kimberly
