Abdominal pain and miscarriage

Hi there - sorry for the long message

Just before Christmas 1997 I had a complete miscarriage at around 11 weeks (although development had stopped at around 6 weeks). I had been experiencing a lot of abdominal pain (mostly like period pains but also Braxton Hicks-like contractions) and had had some blood loss (v. small amounts) from the start of the pregnancy up to complete miscarriage. I hadn't worried too much about this because I have a four year old daughter and I had exactly the same problems (abdominal pain + heavy blood loss) during the first trimester. Everything was fine after that.

I am now in the early stages (coming up to 6 weeks) of a third pregnancy and once again I am in constant pain. I am now convinced that I have either had, or am about to have, another missed miscarriage.

Internal ultrasounds show no abnormalities with my uterus and I am fortunate enough to have no problems in conceiving. I am otherwise healthy (normal weight; don't smoke etc.) I appreciate that you can give no categorical explanations for why I experience this pain in early pregnancy and why I seem to have a problem with carrying a baby past about 6-8 weeks but if anyone knows any possible reasons or has a similar experience I'd be most grateful to hear from you.

Thanks for your time.
