fibromyalgia & lactic acid build-up in the uterusFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Mar 1998 11:38:10 -0600 (CST)
I have been experiencing abnormal discharge with menses. The menstrual fluid is mixed with a fluid making it very 'watery' and heavy, enough to soak a superabsorbant tampon plus a pad in less than two hours. In addition, near the end of the period, a clear to yellow liquid is discharged. This soaks a tampon in less than two hours, to the point that the tampon will 'fall' halfway out of the vagina. Approximately two tablespoon of liquid is expelled at a time. I was told by a physical therapist that it is due to the lactic acid build-up in muscles that happens with fibromyalgia and that my body needs to release the lactic acid build-up somehow so it leaves the body with menstruation. My physican and I don't quite understand how this can be so. Pelvic exams and an uterine ultrasound are not showing any abnormalities. I am interested in knowing if anything exists to explain the link between fibromyalgia and lactic acid, and what else may cause this. Ann
