Black outs and symptoms similar to hypothroidismFrom: Alix (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Mar 1998 01:28:23 -0600 (CST)
For the past few months, I've felt extremely tired and out of sorts. I thought it was merely stress related from working too much. However, within the last month, I find that I can't seem to stay up late anymore. Around 11 PM, my body just seems to shut down on its own. Then last weekend while on a skiing trip, I blacked out for a few seconds to a minute. I remember feeling a tremendous pressure building up inside my head and making me feel very tired and sick before I just totally blacked out. I don't remember anything after that except waking up to my friends who thought I had a seizure of some sort. I've never blacked out before in my entire life even when I've gone for 2 days without sleep. I've read about Hashimoto's disease, and I'm experiencing practically all of the symptoms to some degree. I'm in the process of making an appointment to see a physician, but would like to know what other tests I should request or discuss with the doctor. Should I also see a specialist, especially concerning the black out and light-headedness lately? I appreciate any comments.
