Dr. Radnich- So there might be a surgery to repair nerve damage? By fistula do you mean a sore? No, I don't have a sore or infection. The colo-rectal specialist told me that my muscle is working alright, but it is not strong. This is the Dr. that my OB referred me to. I really don't know where else to go. This Dr. is suppose to be the best in the city. The next step he wants me take, is to go a neurologist and have her put needles through my rectum to test the nerves, then he wants to choose an option which are (1.) Do enemas everyday (2.) Just let nature take its course (3.) artificial rectum (which is a research study he would like to perform) (4.) colostomy bag.

Am I going to have problems the next time I get pregnant? Does this mean I will have to have a c-section so I won't have to go through this again? Is this normal for an OB to cause damage to all nerve endings while episiotomy?? I am very confused as to what is happening to me. I'm sorry for all the questions. But you are the only one who has given me straight forward answers. Thank you for giving some kind of hope.

If while during labor the baby's heart rate goes low, and I am 9 centimeters dilated, should he have performed a c-section instead of going in cutting everything causing me to have a 4th degree episiotomy (for a 7lb 6oz baby) and nerve damage. Is there steps he should have taken instead of making such a harsh move and cut??

Thank you-
