I have been taking a low-dose OC for over a month now (6 pills into the new, second pack), but I am experiencing a slight cramp today, similar to that of ovulation. I have also been having some thick, stretchy discharge. Is it possible after this long that I'm still ovulating on the pill? A second question: after how many days after starting the second pack is it effective for protecting pregnancy? I know that you have to take 7 pills in a row during the FIRST pack for it to be effective (according to the material that came with my pills), but I can't find any info on when the pill is effective for all packs after that. Do I have to take 7 pills in a row after going off the placebos before they are effective (I started my 2nd pack on time)? I am concerned because I had sex the night after I took my 1st pill out of the new (2nd) pack, taking the 2nd one as scheduled later that evening. Should I be worried, or were the pills working then?
