Is there really a shortage of androgens? Why? The only reason for a shortage of androgens is a bilateral ovariectomy. There are many other reasons for decreased libido. Maybe it is better to consult a sexuologist before taking androgens. A problem with depo-androgens is the possibillity of irreversible masculine changes like a deep voice and clitoris enlargement. Also weight gain, acne, fat skin and hair growth are side-effects. It depends on dose of course, but androgens give sometimes a fine feeling and one gets used of it and takes sometimes more and more. So be very carefull
