I just have to add, as someone who has gone thru this over the last 3 years, (ages 38-41) that it *might* also be perimenopause. After trying everything (including Prozac and then St. John's Wort and then Prozac again), dietary changes and suppliments(nutritionist and naturopath), exercise changes (health&wellness councellor and physical trainer), etc, and with help from my family physician (female), my therapist (female), my psychiatrist (female), and a naturopath (female). Finally it was my (male) homeopathic physician (also an DO) who suggested maybe the problem was perimenopause. One month on Pro-Gest, a natural progesterone cream, and all my symptoms (rage, wild mood swings, depression, occasional night sweats, food cravings, etc) disappeared and have not returned since October 97.

The book, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause" by John R. Lee, M.D. describes the symptoms and the reaason that natural progesterone works so well. Read it for more information!

It was and is miraculous to me!
