?Flagyl related to my miscarriage?

My OB diagnosed me with BV while I was 8 weeks pregnant. She started me on Flagyl 250 tid x10 days. During this time I changed doctors. My new doc told me to stop taking flagyl immediately. I soon found out that it is contraindicated in first trimester pregnancy. I was on this drug for 9 days and miscarried 2 wks later. Ive done some reading, Ive found out that its method of action is .."to disrupt DNA synthesis to all suseptible organisms" (DAVIS'S DRUG HANDBOOK).It also says that it crosses the placenta at the same rate as maternal plasma, which is at 80%. After reading this I cant help but feel that this carcinoginic drug could have harmed my baby, during its most fragile developmental stage. I am curious to know if there could be a connection between FLAGYL/MISCARRIAGE. Has this ever been studied? Thank you in advance, Jennifer Lynne Kelly 302 Mill Pond Rd.
