Being pregnant twice within a year increases the risk of prematurity and low birth weight. Also since the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastffeding for a full year, you should wait until your first is a year old before getting pregnant again.

No. Why did your doctor say the next would probably be a cesarean?
About 70-80% of women who attempt to deliver vaginally after a prior
c-section do, depending on hte reason for the original c-section. For
example, over 80% of women who had a first c-section for breech will be
able to deliver vagianlly next time, compared to only 12-15% who had a
c-section after being unable to push the baby out.

As all women are different, there is no absolute number that applies to all women --I've delivered a woman who had 8 prior c-sections and her uterus looked fine, and I've deliverd some with only one or two prior c-sections whose uterii looked like tissue paper. At the time of a c-section we can often tell if the lower part of the uterus is abnormally thin, and may recommend caution in another pregnancy.
