Endometriosis of the lungs or thoracic cavity is unusual but not unheard of. Pneumothorax secondary to pulmonary endometriosis is even more uncommon.

If your sister in law has symptoms she is concerned about, it would be appropriate to get it checked out by a physician knowledgable in endometriosis.
