Doctor, do you mean take one 500 mg pill in the am and one in the pm>? The bottle says take 2 pills with food at bedtime! I never new you needed to split it up. HOw many hours in between each 500 mg dose? Cala

Calcium carbonate can conctipate some people but loose >stool would be unusual.
