In fact, I have seen twice this blood loss without need for transfusion, and have seen this blood loss many times where no transfusion was required. I have never seen a transfusion for this amount of bleed loss. William's Obstetrics says up to 500cc's is the normal blood loss at a delivery. Find out what your Hgb was before delivery. Perhaps this was part of the problem and you can concntrate on being in better shape (Hgbwise) prior to delivery. Good Luck, Ingrid Gold, CNM
