PCOS HistoryFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Feb 1998 04:06:30 -0600 (CST)
By now I have a history with PCOS. I was first diagnosed a year ago after I went to a doctor complaining of moderate hair growth and not menstruating for the last 6 months. Since then, I have had blood tests done for everything, had a lyperoscopy, tried the herbal treatments, and I even seen a chiropractor. There is only one thing that has worked for me and seemed to have restored my fertility, resolved my other nasty hair problems, and somewhat restored my sanity, and that is an extremely low carbohydrates diet ( 30g a day or less). My doctor has prescribed Rezulin for me as I am very thin. If I took it I could go back to a normal diet, but I am hesitant because then I feel like I am getting into serious drugs. So I do not take Rezulin, and instead I hope for the cure. Is there anyone else out there who has had a similar experience with this very emotionally trying disease? Also, I think that one side affect of PCO that I still have is ovarian pain. My doctors don’t seem to know what to make of it. What is it? I would appreciate any help.
