removed at the same time? The symptoms you decribed as similar to decrease estrogen. Discuss this with your doc, as he or she may increase your patch to a higher dose. There is no reason you can not take oral estrogen. If the breast cancer, your mother had, was after the age of 50 and not estrogen dependent.Risk of breast cancer increases with long term use of estrogen. The studies show as of 97. You can take oral estrogen, if thats your desire, and you do not have any contraindcations.

The new serm Raloxifene appears to have estrogen like effect on bone but not on the uterus(don't worry anyway, you don't have one.) and do not effect the breat latest sudies. Does NOT RELIEVE HOT FLASHES. It is expensive! Theres also Isoflavones (Phytoestrogens ) that you may want to include in your diet, along with your current patch.. I.e. soy, tofu, garbanzo beans to name a few. Also cut down on caffiene and spicey food. Hope this helps a little
