Surgical Menopause and symptomsFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Feb 1998 18:46:05 -0600 (CST)
I am 46. Last November I had a surgical menopause due to endometriosis, fibroids and my mothers history (uterine cancer). Previous to the hysterectomy I was having pre-menstrual symptom, sleeplessness, night sweats, crying spells. After the surgery I was put on Estraderm .05 patch. I was fine for about 6 months and then I noticed that I was tired all the time, memory loss, trouble sleeping and crying again. I am wondering if this could be related to the patch? Am I not getting enough hormones? I also question taking hormones at all because now my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer (she's 80). Is there anything I can take instead of or in addition to the patch?
