Without the benefit of an exam, it sounds like hidradenitis supperativa. Mainly found in the genital and axillary (armpit) area, they have a tendency to recur and antibioticx therapy is the best available. As you indicated, surgery is relatively ineffective.
>Is there anything to make them go away permanently? Unfortunately, no. Aggressive antibiotic therapy at the beginning of an outbreak is the best therapy today.
