Accuracy of Ovulation Predictor Kits

From: Connie (anonymous@obgyn.net)

A year and a half ago I had an ectopic pregnancy that went undetected until my tube burst. The doctor that performed the surgery had to remove my left tube and left ovary. My question is, do I ovulate every other month now that I have only one ovary or do I still ovulate every month?

I am trying to conceive again and have decided to use the aid of an over-the-counter ovulation predictor kit to let me know the time of the month that is best for me to conceive. If I only ovulate every other month, why does the ovulation predictor come up positive every month indicating I am about to ovulate? Is one of these a false reading? I have used it for 3 months and the test indicated ovulation each of the 3 months.

Thank You for any help you can give me to answer these questions.
