I can however offer one helpful (I hope) hint. Pick a physician that you like and trust and then stay with that physician for a while. Working with abnormal bleeding is something that takes a while to straighten out. If you go to one physician for 1 or 3 months and then switch to another, the second has no idea what the first was trying and may make things worse. Neither of you have mentioned either a sonogram, a saline infusion sonogram, or a hysteroscopy. These are diagnostic tests that might be helpful in figuring out why.
