Pill QuestionFrom: Annette (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Feb 1998 12:25:19 -0600 (CST)
First of all, Dr.s', you might want to finish your dinner before repying to this. It's somewhat on the gross side, but a serious question nevertheless. I'm on my first cycle of the pill, this being the middle of the second week. Five hours after I took it last night, I went to the bathroom and noticed a bright white, somewhat mucus-like area on my stool. Because of its color and look, I am concerned that this could have been the pill that I took, one that had somehow not dissolved properly or absorbed. I'm especially worried because I have had some slight stomach discomfort today, like ovulation. I've not had sex so far this month, so no pregnancy here. Is it possible that this pill (or any other) didn't dissolve properly like this and I'm about to ovulate, or something else is wrong? I have taken the other pills as scheduled, with the exception of one I threw up in the first week thanks to a case of food poisioning (I took 2 the next day as directed, though). As this is so close to my ovulation and Valentine's, I'd like to know if there's any cause for concern in the way of effectiveness. Thanks!
