Dear Hilary, Like you, my sister has been diagnosed with a benign ovarian cyst, one which now measures 10 cm long. Shes had it since last November. Its not causing her any pain, just gets in the way. She is a yoga teacher and vegan in the true sense of the word. She doesn't want to have invasive surgery (with no medical insurance and also a faith in homeopathic forms of healing.) She has heard from various doctors that even such large cysts can go away in time. Im wondering if there are more risks in her case - if they are larger, are they more likely to rupture, and does it cause more pain than a smaller one? Can her yoga possibly aid in its disappearance or perhaps accelerate a rupture, etc... I imagine it depends on the case, no definitive answers, but I would like to know what is known about the larger cysts.

Thanks, allison kohrs albuquerque, nm
