Re: Wishing and hoping to have a baby.........From: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 5 Feb 1998 00:26:35 -0600 (CST)

For what it's worth, I've never *ever* seen 'Gagging On Your Toothbrush' as a sign of pregnancy, but it was the first thing I experience with my baby daughter. Yes, I'd skipped a period - in fact, it'd been 6 weeks since I'd had one, but I'd been erratic my entire life. Sure, my breasts were amazingly sore, but that had happened before when I wasn't (and couldn't have been) pregnant, and I chalked it up to 'weird hormones'. So I was falling asleep on the bus coming home from work - I chalked it up to overwork and staying up too late at night. Even developing a sudden aversion to anything with caffeins (I had been drinking 6 or 8 cups of coffee/coke a day!) didn't send me out for an EPT. It was the gagging that really got my attention. When I described the gagging thing to several women, they all said, "Oh, yes! *I* did that, too." But I've never seen it on any list of 'signs of early pregnancy'. I'm no doctor, I've only had one baby, and I know everybody's experience is different, but if you have a symptom that is really /really/ bizarre like that...
