New baby, no libido

I suffered from polycystic ovaries and accompanying erratic periods all my life, and could not get pregnant until a little over a year ago, after laser-draining of the cysts during a laparoscopy. I got pregnant the next cycle (what are the chances?) and my daughter is now 4 1/2 months old. I am breastfeeding her exclusively but my menstrual cycle has kicked back in. My period is, in theory, due any day - if it may be trusted to be 'regular' now. But I'm having worse PMS now, and less libido, than I've ever experienced in my life - even when I was anovulatory for months on end. I know that breastfeeding can reduce estrogen levels in the mother (my own personal theory being that low estrogen==low libido==less chance of conceiving another child too soon, biologically speaking). But would this reasonably result in what I'm experiencing, and may I expect things to continue to adjust in this post-partum period? It's highly discouraging to my husband and me both that sometimes I'm interested enough to initiate intimacy, and sometimes no matter what he does, I can't be aroused at all.
