What I can say is that if someone is pregnant with an IUD, the most common recommendation is to remove it. The statistical chance of miscarriage secondary to removal is outweighed by the chance of septic abortion (infection associated miscarriage) if it is not removed. Some excellent physicians disagree with this and feel that newer IUDs are non reactive and can be left in place. Speak to your doctor about these options.
