I had a Shirodkar cerclage in place from weeks 14 through 19. I had regular internals throughout my prenatal care. In my 20th week I had some unusual vaginal pinching and an internal was done to check the cerclage, it was found to be "perfect". 10 days later I went in, was 7 centimeters dialated the cerclage was torn out . The only warning of a torn cerclage was a pin dot spot of pink spotting barely noticable. The baby of course did not survive. P.S. My prenatal care was all handled at a top hospital by high risk doctors.
