If there is an imbalance in hte vaginal ecosystem, then you may still feel sore.

Douching ONCE to increase the acidity is ok. Other ways to increase acidity are too drink cranberry juice (the yuckky organic, unsweetened kind) or to take cranberry capsules or extract. Acidophilus (lactobacillus acidophilus) supplements may also help repopulate your system with this beneficial bacteria. Yogurt with active cultures is another way of getting the acidophilus. >

PID is infection in the tubes and would be expected to cause pelvic and abdominal pain and often a fever and just feeling downright sick.
