Cervical Mucus, cervical pain and ectopic questionsFrom: Electra (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Jan 1998 10:07:13 -0600 (CST)
What causes copious amounts of creamy CM after ovulation? Now this CM is definately different than the CM pre ovulation... at 5 days post ovulation this current cycle I noticed it is much much thicker, it also had a slightly darker color (brownish tint) than normal which has now at 7 days post ovulation returned to pure white. In a normal cycle right after AF I have one day with no CM... this is followed by thin white lotiony CM then at O I have lotiony/eggwhite. During this cycle and the one previous, right at ovulation and only then I notice that there is a fishy odor to it that disappears right after ovulation. What on earth would cause that? Also at ovulation time and following for a few days my cervix becomes extremely sensitive and intercourse can become painful... this decreases as the days pass. I don't have lots of CM as to check it I have to do it internally both pre O and post O... but like I said post O it has increased sigificantly. (I guess I should re-clarify that this is the second cycle I have seen this increase in cervical mucus... usually I have the thicker CM post O, but not by this amount... and know it is not a yeast infection or anything! Believe me I *KNOW* what that is!) I had an ectopic pregnancy which ruptured on the 22 of August thus losing my left tube. Since that time my cycle lenght has been erratic. When I first began to have Menses I had some variation the shortest being a 21 day cycle and the longest being 26days. But for the last 20 years it has rarely fluxuated from 24 days. Now since the tubal I have varied from 27 day cycles to 21 day cycles... is there any coorelation? One last question... if you feel midcycle pain (ovulatory pain) one the side where the tube was ruptured, what are the odds of concieving... let alone concieving a "normal" uterine pregnancy? Thank you all for your patience in reading this... I look forward to your response.
