Uterine prolapseFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Jan 1998 13:56:32 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I am living in Sweden (originally from New Mexico, USA) and I think I have a prolapsed uterus - I am confused with the information I have gotten from the medical people here.. I am 30 years old and have had one cesarean (May 96) and one VBAC (Dec 15, 1997). My uterus ruptured during the VBAC and my bladder fell down into my pelvis (but didn't break). The VBAC was pretty normal (aside from rupuring) but my daughter had to be helped out with forceps since my uterus was not functioning (the entire c-section scar ruptured and I tore down through my cervix). I tore extensively in my vagina and in perenium, but my sphinture remained intact. After I got home from the hospital I was feeling like I had a very full tampon in me and after talking to several different medical people was told that I have, in Swedish, "framfall", where the front wall of the vagina falls down. Is this uterine prolapse or something different? I can feel that my cervix is only about an inch up in my vagina and it seems like that is lower than it was a few weeks ago. I have been told to do keegels, but I don't really know how many or how many times a day. Also, one Doctor told me that they wouldn't do any good and that I will definately need surgury and another Doctor told me that keegels can do miracles. I have another appointment on Monday and would love to have more information on my condition - is it uterine prolapse? We hope to have another child and I want to do what I can to make this possible. Also, I find the feeling of things falling out of me really annoying and would like to hear tips on how it could be improved. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks
