musclepower and hormones

I have been a runner for a long time, but the last couple of years my training has deteriorated due to a long range of treatments and surgeries. It all started in november '95 when I had an ectopic pregnancy that required major surgery. I was under complete anesthesia for two hours. After that I had three IVF treatments in '96, taking high doses of Metrodin HP (two injections of three capsules each, daily). After these attempts we decided to go on and try naturally. I had another ectopic in July '97. Again major surgery (it was in what was left of the already removed tube), complete anesthesia. Then, last december, I had another surgery (removal of septum in uterus) under complete anesthesia and after that until last week I had to take two Premarin 1,25 daily, partly combined with Primolut. It is quite a story, and all this time I tried to keep running. Running for me is very important, it helps me fight depression (Who, me depressed??). But the past year I have had an injury that won't go away (Calf-muscle tore and now there is scartissue that keeps it very tight.) Everytime I start running I end up with a sore muscle. What do these two, apparently completely seperate stories have in common? Well, I have been told that, especially, hormonal treatment and anesthesia weaken your muscles considerably. Sorry for the novel, but FINALLY my question is: are there any vitamins or other treatments I can have to strengthen my muscles after all this? Sorry for this long and complicated letter, may your answer be brief and simple!!
